The UCSF Lobular Breast Cancer Research Group is excited to announce that we have received an additional $50,000 dollars of grant funding through the UCSF Research Allocation Program (RAP) for our clinical trial B-BRITE (Bariatric Breast Results in Testing Experience). B-BRITE is a prospective pilot study evaluating the impact of surgical weight loss on breast tissue composition in women undergoing bariatric surgery at UCSF. This study is collecting data on breast cancer screening experience, imaging features that correlate with breast cancer risk, and histologic and genomic markers of breast tissue inflammation and cancer risk before and after surgical weight loss.
